Reclassification of Trichoderma Viride (TNAU), the Most Widely Used Commercial Biofungicide in India, as Trichoderma Asperelloides

چکیده
Trichoderma “viride” TNAU is the most widely used biofungicide in India with more than 250 registered commercial formulations being available. We have studied the phylogenetic position of this strain using a molecular marker and determined that this commercial strain is, in fact, a strain of Trichoderma asperelloides, and not T. viride. The implications of these findings on the registration and commercial distribution of biofungicides based on this strain has

Five New Records of Soil-Derived Trichoderma in Korea: T. albolutescens, T. asperelloides, T. orientale, T. spirale, and T. tomentosum
Despite the huge worldwide diversity of Trichoderma (Hypocreaceae, Ascomycota), only about 22 species have been reported in Korea. Thus, between 2013 and 2015, soil-derived Trichoderma spp. were isolated to reveal the diversity of Korean Trichoderma. Phylogenetic analysis of translation elongation factor 1 alpha gene was used for identification. Among the soil-derived Trichoderma, Trichoderma a...
متن کاملProduction of Lactase by Trichoderma sp
In order to find an alternative fungal source, 13 different fungi (Aspergillus, Trichoderma, Penicillium, Rhizopus and Fusarium sp.) were cultured in lactase production medium at 30 °C and 150 rpm for 6 days. Experimental results showed that Trichoderma viride ATCC 32098 has maximum lactase specific activity, followed by Trichoderma harzianum 1073 D3. In addition, the studies of stability were ...
متن کاملCellulase Production by Trichoderma viride on Feedlot Waste.
Feedlot waste contains essentially all the necessary nutrients for batch fermentation with the fungus Trichoderma viride. The organism utilizes two-thirds of the carbohydrate in feedlot waste while elaborating cellulase in quantities comparable to commercial preparations. Essentially odor-free, the fermented waste contains all of the original nitrogen but has 24% less organic matter.
متن کاملThe Effect of Manganese Ions on Development and Antagonism of Trichoderma Isolates
This work presents results on the effect of manganese ions on the development and biological activities of the fungal antagonists Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma pseudokoningii and Trichoderma viride. The effects of manganese on linear growth of Trichoderma spp. depend on the metal concentration and the fungal species. T. harzianum proved the most sensitive fungus. on the other hand, none of...
متن کاملComparative Study of Cellulase Production by Aspergillus niger and Trichoderma viride Using Solid State Fermentation On Cellulosic Substrates Corncob, Cane Bagasse and Sawdust
The enzyme activities of Trichoderma viride and Aspergillus niger grown on various waste cellulosic materials such as corncobs, saw dust and sugarcane baggase were tested for a period of 192 hrs. The maximum activity of 0.33 mg/min/ml & 0.026 mg/min/ml of cellulase enzyme were found to be produced on saw dust after 144 hrs by Aspergillus niger & Trichoderma viride, respectively. Corncob showed ...
